Dennis P. Moon

Dennis Paul Moon, age 47, of rural Zearing passed away on December 22, 2011. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colo, IA. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral at the Church.

Dennis was born on May 6, 1964 to Paul and JoAnne (Roche) Moon. He grew up in Colo where he graduated from high school in 1982. He was active in sports and 4H while in school. He showed cattle and sheep at the Story County Fair. After school Dennis was a farm hand, drove a truck for J.B. Hunt, worked at Lennox in Marshalltown, and most recently worked at Sauer-Danfoss in Ames. He enjoyed spending time with his boys, riding his three wheeler, helping on the various farms he worked on, and spending time with his dog Ashley.

He married to Janet Hayes on May 14, 1994 and of this union three sons were born. Dennis and Janet later divorced.

He is survived by his parents, Paul and JoAnne Moon of Ames; 3 sons, Austin Moon of Zearing, Adam Moon of Kellogg, and Andrew Moon of Kellogg; two sister, Deb (Tom) Bishop of Bradenton, FL, and Diane Moon(Jon Gillham) of Des Moines.
