Florence M. Lane passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at her home with her loving family by her side. Visitation will be held at Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the United Church of Ira at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tenny Hinshaw officiating. Florence’s final resting place will be by her husband Ted at the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Florence Marie Lane was born on July 16, 1916 to Joseph and Jennie (Plumb) Taylor in Ira, Iowa. She attended school in Ira. After school she married Edward “Ted” Lane. To this union nine children were born.  Florence was a member of the United Church of Ira and belonged to the Christian Women’s Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family, writing poetry, painting, playing the piano, writing and singing her favorite songs, and stitching.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Jim (Marilyn) Lane of Joplin, MO, David (Aurora) Lane of Albuquerque, NM, Judy Keagle of Ira, IA, Bill Lane of Newton, IA, Joseph (Kathleen) Lane of Union, MO, J. Victoria Lane of Atlantic, GA, and Phyllis Kay Lane of Belize; 25 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, and two sons Gene and Dan Lane.
