Tianqi Xiao Obituary (1934

Tianqi Xiao, 83, of Clive, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care, 302 South 2nd Street, in Polk City, Iowa. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Tianqi was born in Xinming, Liaoning, China on April 9, 1934 to Xiao Kaifan and Cui Jingen, a doctor family with full of love. She grew up at Sichuan, China, graduated from Leshan Girl's high school in 1952, and at 1956 obtained bachelor degree from Sichuan University with analytical chemical major. She started her career in Anhui Agriculture University as an assistant professor. Later she worked for several different companies as a chemical engineer, such as, in The Research Institute of Chemical engineering of Anhui, Huainan Fertilizer Plant, Yiyang Fertilizer Plant. From 1985 to 1995, she worked as a senior engineer and director of the Central Chemical Analysis Lab of Zhongyuan Fertilizer Group in Puyang, Henan until retired. She was very proud of leading and building up the lab from the scratch and supporting the plant operating successfully. Her honest, integrity, highly admired from her colleagues and supervisors. She also got a lot of awards of outstanding performance through out of her life time career. Besides of her successful career, she was such a caring, loving and frugal mom, she always taught her children to be honest, proactive, warm-hearted, and give back to the community. In her past 56 years spending with her children was the happiest time for her, her love and kind heart, sounds and smile will stay with her children forever. She enjoyed playing musical instrument in her university years, listening to classical music, playing volleyball, and she appreciated art and literature. In 2011 she moved to Ottawa and Toronto, Canada and immigrated to America, she had been living in Clive, Iowa since 2014 to be with family. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children Hui (Qin) Zhang, Wei (Shuhong Yuan) Zhang, Lei (Su Peng) Xiao, and Baifang Zhang; grandchildren Wenting Zhang, Jiasheng Li, Jikai Xiao, Jirui Xiao, and Jiachen Li; and brother Tianxiang Xiao. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
