Mark Pohlman, 59, of Mingo, Iowa passed away on Friday, March 6, 2021 at MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. March 13, 2021 at Bea's Place in Baxter, Iowa.
Mark was born on September, 8, 1961 in Newton, Iowa to Leo and Frieda (Dahl) Pohlman. He grew up in Mingo, Iowa on the family farm where he continued farming throughout his life. Mark attended Mingo High School where he graduated in 1980. After graduation Mark worked for Maytag for over 20 years until the closing of Maytag when he was employed with Huber Hauling.
Mark married his high school sweetheart Tracy Waterhouse in 1991 in Newton, Iowa.
He was a member of Ira Church, he was a member Mingo Men's Club, Baxter Men's Recreational Club, Hawk Club, he also served on the Board for Kidville in Baxter, Iowa.
Mark enjoyed being outdoors and a lot of his interests involved his sons which including hunting, fishing, football, especially the Iowa Hawkeye's and the Green Bay Packers, Nascar, tractor pulling, snowmobile drag racing, which he won many awards in both, and he especially enjoyed socializing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Frieda and his sister, Linda Sweeney.
Mark is survived by his wife, Tracy of Mingo, Iowa; his two sons, Cole (Nicole) Pohlman of Forest City, Iowa and Mac (Mikayla) Pohlman of Baxter, Iowa; brother, Larry (Joyce) Pohlman of Nevada, Iowa; niece, Melea (Eric) Ballou; nephews, Dan (Sandra) Pohlman, Brad Pohlman and Daymon (Michelle) Sweeney; and many cousins, great nieces and nephews.

He was always a great friend. I worked for his father for years with bean crews and Leo was such a kind man and this is exactly what kind of guy Mark was
